The surest way of getting a refund is through MTN Mobile money reversal.
What is MTN Mobile Money Reversal?
The MTN MoMo platform has a function called MTN money reversal that enables customers to undo a transaction made. Simply put, you receive your money back after sending it; whether you sent it to the incorrect person, the things you bought for are of poor quality, or the service was poor or for any other reason.
This reversal could be made by either contacting MTN Customer Service or doing the reversal yourself.
So if you are contacting MTN Customer Service for the reversal you would be required give them details of the transaction, such as the transaction date, time, and amount as well as the reason you are requesting for the reversal. Your money will be refunded when and if your request is approved by MTN.
You may also want to do the reversal all by yourself. Below are the simple steps to follow;
- Dial *170#
- Go to “My Account” by choosing option 8
- Choose option 7 on the next screen to go to “Initial Reversal”. The last three transactions on the account will be displayed.
- Choose the transaction you want to reverse.
- Enter your PIN for account verification. You will receive a notification that the funds have been blocked.
- Contact MTN CustomerCare by dialing 100 within 6 days to complete the reversal.
Note that this reversal service is limited to customer-to-customer transactions and it’s valid for transactions made within 24 hours.
